CAR KARMA: You Get What You Give

Did you know that bad-mannered drivers are more likely to make other drivers behave in the same way?

If you’ve ever cursed the driver in front for cutting you off, you’d better watch out. New RACQ research has confirmed the common belief that there is such a thing as car karma. A landmark study into driver behaviour out of the University of the Sunshine Coast found most drivers will mirror the behaviours of others. So if you’ve acted impolitely on the road, you can expect a rude reaction.

But equally if you are a courteous driver you’re more likely to have pleasant interactions with other motorists. The new study is still ongoing with RACQ hoping the research will help develop a greater understanding of the pressures Queensland drivers face on the roads.
